Overview

Hanford Laboratory and Management Integration, LLC (HLMI) is recruiting for a Technical Editor in Richland, WA. 

 

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD). 

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

Responsible for providing support and coordination in the preparation, development, and writing of new or revised technical analytical chemistry laboratory reports within the framework of the functional areas or division assigned. Drafts/revises administrative and technical reports, descriptive manuals, data sheets, diagrams, and other existing documents at management direction. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, performs research and writes, edits, indexes, revises, and proofreads technical documents/analytical reports.
  • Provides support to ensure technical documents are developed, reviewed, approved, and distributed to appropriate personnel in accordance with the established approval process cycle.
  • Routes and tracks documents through all stages of the process cycle utilizing automated database and document tracking and retrieval systems.
  • Responsible for preparing project files for submission to electronic record managed information area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) and 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience (e.g., technical/procedure writing).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Trustworthy, ethical, and discreet.
  • Proficient with the written English language.
  • This role requires attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to produce high-quality products.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in chemistry or related scientific discipline and 3-5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.
  • Knowledge of SmartPlant/DMCS or similar document management and workflow software.
  • Experience with technical document writing.
  • Familiarity with IDMS or other electronic record system functions.

Additional Information

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)

Grade ​14: $69,413 - $87,538​

Grade ​15: $76,338 - $96,313​

Grade ​16: $83,950 - $105,750​

 

The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.

 

In accordance with ATL salary determination process, ATL takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities and the candidate’s education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. A candidate’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
