Overview

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is hiring for a Analytical Service Administrator in Richland, WA.

 

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

Performs a variety of specialized administrative tasks in support of management and staff in the Analytical Services Organization. Performs a variety of tasks to include, but not limited to creating and/or updating spreadsheets, tracking, and monitoring data, preparing reports and presentations, updating internal databases/web sites, and maintaining electronic and/or hardcopy files. Responds to inquiries from internal and external contacts regarding general business operations, policies and/or procedures. Maintains sensitivity of confidential business or personal information.

  • Skilled, fully proficient level. Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. Assignments may be broad or narrowly focused requiring considerable judgment and initiative.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
  • Researches, analyzes problems, compiles data and prepares reports. Interfaces with and coordinates activities between various departments and outside organizations.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing with all employees.
  • Refers matters to appropriate staff and/or management for further resolution and follows up as appropriate.
  • Maintains confidentiality, uses tact and diplomacy and practical knowledge in conducting daily work activities.
  • Provides suggestions for, and assists in implementing, process improvements.
  • May mentor/assist others.
  • Contacts are frequent with individuals representing other departments and/or outside organizations. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data of moderate importance to the function of the department which may be of a sensitive nature.
  • Coordinate shipments of samples to off-site laboratories. Verify receipt and prepare documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma and 8 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Working knowledge of commonly used computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent customer service and organization skills.

  • Detail-oriented.

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 9 to 10 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Working knowledge of internal software and/or internal organization business systems.

     

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Working knowledge in the use of related business systems and software.

Compensation

Grade 6: $53,413 - $67,338

Grade 7: $58,825 - $74,175

 

The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.
